I just look at the $162 price on my ticket for tomorrow's game and shake my head. They should be $50 and include 10 beer the way the team is playing. - canadianpenfan
$162? Must be nose bleeds.... |

I already said something similar in the last blog.
The Pens play down to these teams for some reason. Could have and probably should have lost to Calgary in Pittsburgh earlier this year. - canadianpenfan
Edmonton will win tonight then you'll shut out the Lames.... |

I would do the Eberle for Letang deal as I believe it helps both teams. But... I would come down off my high horse when talking about how bad the Oilers have been. Let's not forget the Penguins no so distant history. The Oilers had 3- top 5 picks in a row. The Penguins had 5- top 5 picks in a row when they were going through their struggles and would most likely not even be a franchise anymore had they not "won" the Sidney Crosby draft lottery. Please remember this when you talk about how the Oilers have had enough high draft picks. |

Apparently that would be Crosby's first 3 goals against Edmonton. One of the reporters told him yesterday and I have a feeling he jinxed the Oil by letting that slip |

I think Zatkoff from rumblings yesterday will be in tonight. I was kinda hoping he would go in Calgary, but MAF does need the rest.
it's, what, a 15 point division lead? Jeff could play the back to back, to be honest and with just 1 game next week, MAF could get some R and R |

My thought as well.
Prediction: Crosby scores 4 tonight. Because he feels like it. |

No he doesn't. He sucks this year. Have no desire to acquire him. |

This is true ...all of it .. That being said Letang is better then most outside of Pitt think he is , the oilers are prob a better team plus letang, minus eberle ... |

Really, he's never scored against the Oil? I didn't know that. Sounds like a challenge.
Last time he was in Calgary he did this...

I'd also think the return would have to be Letang+ for Eberle. How about:
Letang + Beau Bennett, 2nd
for
Eberle. - Flyers_V88
Pittsburgh doesn't have to add to this. Anyone who suggests so needs a reality check. That is retarded. It's straight up. Where do I sign? I will take Letang to the airport.

Thanks. I liked the way he played from the limited time I saw him. - canadianpenfan
Yeah I personally doubt he ever comes back but he had the potential to be a real solid get for us. Like Hamilton was supposed to be...
Hopefully Pitlick, Khaira, Yakimov, Slepyshev, Chase or Moroz could become that/those industrious complimentary forwards that we need.

Yeah but with the Pens tops picks they got A good goalie, 87, 71, and Staal. Staal was moved for more pieces and free up cap room. The Oilers still don't have a good goalie, 0 Defense and RNH, Hall, Yak, and Eberle are nowhere close to where 87 and 71 are, or ever will be. Keeping those 4 long term with no supporting cast and no defense will just mean more top 5 picks in the future. Eventually they will have to move those pieces to aquire other needs. |

There's no way that Letang gets traded, but I get the timing as the boys are in Edmonton and this prospective Letang trade at least makes logical sense.
Eberle is an above average two-way forward with a huge contract.
Letang (who is only 26 - still young in D-man years) has a chance to be a generational player if his hockey IQ even comes close to catching up with his talent level and work ethic.
And the only prospect that has a chance of replacing Letang's puck carrying skills is Pouilot, and he's nowhere near Letang at this stage.
And Scuderi does have oven mitts for hands. - hardnosed
As much as I like Letang he will never be a "generational" player. That term is reserved for the Lidstrom, Coffey, Orr's in the league |

Just for argument's sake since 2010 the oilers have used two 1sts and two 2nds (all in the top 50) on Dmen, and signed Schultz.
I wouldn't say they've ignored the search for impact Dmen completely... |
