Now that the canadian national team has Kunitz on it, I'd say waayyy closer to Taylor Pyatt. - Morris

Just watching the game now. From what I have read on Twitter it sounds like the Penguins were charitable tonight. - Ben37
If it was on twitter and Pens fans said it, it must be true.
Isn't it possible that the Oilers actually played a good game? |

oilers played well. i totally understand where you cant exactly have a say in if a team has a poopty game against you or not. just do your best on your own end and thats that. the oilers, by and large, pretty much did that. you cant honestly think that the pens themselves didnt have a pretty bad game though. |

the whole olympic worthy argument has been beat to death, and that whole argument is a matter of perspective anyway. but still, people saying that kunitz is a plug or wouldnt make any NHL team better on his own merit are just as delusional as those saying yakupov isnt worth a 6th rounder or whatever other crazy low things were suggested. - stayinthefnnet

Agreed. Kunitz is a real solid player, and was when you acquired him. I seem to remember some combination of Getzlaf, Kunitz, Lupul and Penner gave us fits in the 06 series against Anaheim. |

regardless of stats, i give them credit for cashing in on the pens mistakes. that being said, i wish the pens would have been honed in enough to not make so many of them. this game was malkin and letang in a nutshell. stud to dud interchangeably from shift to shift |

Not as lucky as winning the draft lottery when the greatest talent of his generation was available, but yeah, he's a top 6 on every team in the league. |

Not as lucky as getting Gretzky because a guy didn't want to play backgammon. |

Glass has to get that out on the PK. He had time and just whiffed. Very Oiler-esque.
Oh well, when you only play one good period games like this happen. Losing to the Oilers should be a wake up call, if they lose to the Flames who have been shut out in 5 of the last 8 then well....I just don't know. |

Oilers earned this game and Pens did not deserve it. With the injured players back we have been trying to do fancy stuff and not doing the basics well. I also think we need to let Despres become a guy who has the size and ability to help us obtain and get the puck out of our own zone. Bortuzzo has not been very good but neither has Brooks. Yet we sit Despres. He is not going to learn if we treat him unfairly like a 3 year old who spilled the milk. Especially when the team itself has acquired bad habits.
At one time I was a huge Letang fan but I am no longer. Unless he gets his turnovers under control he will be more of a liability than an asset. |
