There was a report that the Devils also have brought back center Rod Pelley on a one-year, two-way contract, but I have not been able to confirm that (will work on it again Tuesday). Pelley, who will turn 29 on Sept. 1., spent last season with Norfolk (Anaheim’s AHL team) and had three goals and seven assists in 60 games. I have a Brodeur plaque, a poster of him that's at least 10 years old, and his jersey I got when I was 8 that's signed by Lou. So I'm gonna throw those all up and frame the jersey. Mount the TV and add some more. So much work

What do you guys think of this: Don't resign Zid, trade Volchenkov for whatever you can get and wait for the Blues to blow their load on AP then make a trade for Bowmester cause they will have to clear space to resign Stewart and with what 1 year left on his deal and them being in a situation he could come a lot cheaper then ever before. Lou has been linked to wanting him in the past and he is a silky smooth skater with a much greater offensive ability then Greene or Zid. Add him to the signings we aready made and our pp and offense should greatly improve thoughts ?

I think we'd all like it, but don't think it will ever happen. He would take up a lot of the space we cleared. On top of that, if we get rid of him beforehand, and the Blues decide to not dumb Bouwmeester, we're down a valuable defensman. If we get bouwmeester and then try and dump ATrain, I doubt anyone would take him not to mention he has a NTC. I think Lou is pretty content with the lineup as it is, and if we need to make a move, it will happen mid season or towards the deadline. Perron is said to be available from the blues, and I think that would be an interesting move depending on the price.

Just the fact that Severson is mentioned as a possibility is an excellent sign for the future. All the prospects have mobility in common with some degree of power...which is great. With Larsson to spearhead the whole thing I think we are going to be very, very good back there in a few years. With Schneider hopefully signed long term to anchor the back we'd be in a tremendous position. Even if some team's fans think we're going to finish in tenth place this year.

LOL I was in EKs blog the other day and literally everyone posting predictions for next season had us last or second last like wtf? didn't know Clarkson was going to effect us like losing Parise and we did nothing but add more guys who can score and punish along with solidifying our goaltender situation for now and the future but yea we are totally worse then last year. 1 year of playoffs in a shortened season and Leaf fans think their team is all of a sudden a top 3 team in the east.

I just think its crazy how delusional people can be. We could land Pietrangelo for nothing and we still would come last in their minds but the leafs can add a third liner and they are Stanley cup favourites Or Tampa can add a 2-3rd line center and Drouin and be a favourite. The same reasons we are worse in their minds are the reasons why they improved drastically in theirs lol .

Yeah and everyone focuses on the Clowe contract being questionable. Few mention that Ryder's is among the best. Including last year's pace all he's done is scored 25+ goals six times.

Yeah Ryder's contract is real nice. Clowe's is questionable I for one question it but someone simple can't tell me he doesn't make us better. Does his contract suck? Yeah i think so but we are a better team with on the roster. Can't say we aren't. People over look that factor.

And i'm not the biggest fan of the Clowe deal. He's slow and 3 concussions is scary. We don't need a big, slow player taking up 5mil for 5 years. But it's whatever. we'll see. i'll be optimistic.
