It is. That said, I won't be upset if they take Zadorov. I have a few guys I like more than others, but I haven't locked in on one in particular.

I'd be happy with Pulock, Horvat, Zadorov, Nurse...whomever.

EDIT: it's really fluid right now, outside the top 3 or 4 guys. There could be a run on defensemen. A guy like Horvat could jump into the top 5 after a brilliant Memorial Cup run. Signability concerns could hurt a kid like Nichushkin.

Shinkaruk im calling to be on my flunk list. He feels like that guy that will be picked high and not meet expectations. Similar with Monahan, but I think Monahan will still be alright. Maybe like a Kostitsyn situation.

I get that, it's just a bad comparison. I think Monahan could very easily be a middle class man's version of Jason Spezza.

That may not necessarily be true, Laughton was pretty close to being on the roster last season and he was picked at 20....This year is a deeper draft so its possible that 11th pick makes the team. Now whether he is very productive is another story.

Maybe on a defensively depleted team, but there are just too many dmen on this team that need time, you can tell that by Mez being talked about as the #7. If we pick Pulock, and decide he is ready for NHL minutes, then expect both Coburn and Mez to be shown the door.

My opinion is that Monahan projects as a 2nd line centre. Solid two-way play, point production, possible perennial NHL all-star. I think an NHL comparable is Logan Couture. I think that highly of him.

I haven't seen a single game Shinkaruk has played in, so I can't say. Having watched many 67s games live over the years, my prediction for Monahan's NHL comparable as posted above is Logan Couture.

I don't think he will bring as much of a physical game and as much nasty as Mike does. Not that he is a soft player, just more in line with a Couture comparison. I think we already have our Mike Richards comparable in BSchenn.
