we may have traded one to Vancouver.

I know they are rare, thats not what I was saying.

Last year you were all but calling Kassian a bust, but now that hes playing alongside the Sedins and became noticeable, hes a rare player?

Anyone Vancouver puts with the Sedin's puts up inflated numbers. I dont buy it.

I guess you'd have to define a lot before I agree or disagree.

All I know is the Amerks have been playing much better Defense since the lockout has ended and Ruff came back here. I also bet it's Ruffs decision to play the likes of Matt Ellis.

Kevin Porter can not seriously be worse than Ellis. I have no idea why hes not playing in Buffalo.

Dont watch much juniors or college hockey?

Kid was dominant as a 17 year old at the WJC. Plays on the same juniors team as MacKinnon.

EDIT: Same amount of points as MacKinnon in less games

I don't get what Ruff has to do with the Amerks. Ron Rolston is the coach there. They didn't appear to be playing any differently this year than they did last year.

Ruff wasn't in Rochester at all. It's been Rolston the whole time. I know. I went to a handful of games. Ruff was never behind the bench.

They've always played the same system that Buffalo does. Even when they were affiliated with Portland that's how it worked. It's so that it's a more seamless transition from one team to the other when guys get called up.

They played the Sabres style while Ruff was there, he said himslef he spent 80% of his time in Rochester. Look at their numbers since the lockout ended

They've been playing similar systems for 2 seasons now. That's part of the whole "Sabres University" concept.

Obviously I dont watch Juniors on TV or online, but I watched all the WJC games that were televised, and the kid went from starting the tournament on the 4th line, to impressing the Canadian coach and getting moved up with Nugent-Hopkins and Scheifele.

He was extremely impressive. MacKinnon was a no-show. Jones had a bad start and a strong finish.

They've played the same system since the beginning of last year. They play the same system as the Sabres. Always. That's a well known fact.

I think you're discrediting the amount of talent that got moved from the AHL to the NHL. The Amerks only lost 3 players. Some teams lost a lot more than that.

MacKinnon wasn't being used properly. They had him in a 3rd line checking role. That's not his style game, so obviously he was going to disappear. I feel bad for the kid. Canada's coach was awful.

he was at every home game but not coaching them in any way.....but of course they played his system, its an ogranizational system, why would you want youe minor league team playing a different system?
