Exactly, they are pending execution, Columbus was pending a hissy fit.
- JoeRussomanno

While everyone has been busy crucifying Howson, why has no-one mentioned Craig Patrick? CBJ rehired him last December to be the senior advisor to Howson. You'd have to think he played a role in the decision not to move Nash at the deadline, as well as to make the deal that was made today.

I personally don't think the deal was that bad considering the situation, but no matter what you think of the deal, I'd love to know what Patrick's input has been.

But you don't trade an all star player, and one of the top goal scoring Forwards in the League, to get depth. Depth can be gotten every off season. You trade a player like Nash, to get building blocks for the future. Especially if your a team like Columbus who is floundering. I don't know a whole lot about Erixson. But he better develop, and they better get a pretty good player with the first rounder. Or else this deal is an awful deal, in my opinion. And from what I'm reading. The deal isn't being looked on favorably around the NHL for Columbus

he couldn't make it as the 6th man.

I do agree, as I stated, Dubinsky is a much better player than what he's shown last year, I just feel that the 2nd player should have been a little better, than AA & Erixon combined, but again, we don't know what was really pushing this thing to fruition, as well, the 5 team list was pretty ridiculous to work with.

Howson should have adopted that ole slogan of Just Say No!

There no good news here...the rangers got a star player for pretty much nothing

- nonpoint22

pieces that they didn't need, that's the thing that gets you, getting a top line goal scorer should cost a team somewhat, they gave them pieces that they didn't need or want

they'd have the pleasure of paying weber 27 million dollars and then moving him. limited number of teams would be able to take on that contract, and his return would probably be less than what they can get now with the picks - either from the flyers or another team.
- hammarby31

If you have Weber, after 3 or 4 seasons, half of his contract is paid out. He's still likely to be an elite defenseman, and they hold their value-look at what Pronger cost the Flyers.

Erixon has a high ceiling. Great skill set and skater, but needs to add muscle and maturity.

Nope. I was reminded of it last week The very smart Russ Cohen of Sportsology.com reminded of it during a discussion, when I asked why Howson hadn't been fired.

From the lack of comments in the media and on twitter, I think you may be right. At this point I'm wondering if Patrick himself is even aware of it.

But it did happen...

Nashville is having meetings tomorrow to see if they can count. 5 days and they still can't figure out how much it's going to cost to fund Weber.
