I keep looking at this Nash trade and scratching my head. Did they really have to get rid of him that bad? If so what a poopty deal, if that was the best deal I would love to hear what the others were, granted there was a limited amount of teams but still.

should include a drawing for one winner to take Howson's eyes out with a rusty mellon scooper at center ice

If that's the best deal I can get. Then I simply tell Nash I tried to trade you. But I'm not giving you away for poor value. And if you really want out, your going to have to allow me to get more teams involved.

Dubinsky is a good player, but really, Erixon instead of one of the other top 4 D men?

It's like they threw in Anisimov in the deal, and that was the extra chip?

Terrible deal for Nash. Laughable if it wasn't so sad for the CBJ. Poor Umberger. Who is that guy going to play with now?

Wow the Read, Mez, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd offered makes me confident Homer isn't about to overpay...if it's true. Thank god. KEEP JAKE! That guy is a 2 way passing stud! On some nights he was the best played on the ice. Read is a very good player and came up huge for a couple games scoring the GWG and is incredible affordable.

I still think they could add another forward.

Howson is seriously hurting the league. Gary B should just make CBJ fire him. He is destroying hockey in the city of Columbus. I don't know exact numbers but I would assume they are making virtually no money in Columbus and are a team that could possibly be moved. Howson has to do a better job in trades. Im not serious about the Bettman thing, but still come on Howson.

Howson had to sweeten the deal by throwing in a third rounder and a warm body to convince Sather to bite.

Savvy.

I think you are right in a sense. They probably say "Nash wants out, get him out before the season starts" but that return is unacceptable if I am the owner (don't know his name , and why should I?) He just doesn't know how to play his cards right.

Yes sir!!
If we can't get Ryan, we need to hold on to Jake, looks as though there may not be anything left to get Ryan anyway

I was out in the heat bailing water out of a kiddie pool when this thing broke. Got done took a break between tasks, let it sink in for a few hours and recovered from the heat. As much as I wanted the Flyers to avoid a Nash trade, sure as hell thought Columbus would get a lot more than that for him. Like MJL said, if that's the best deal they got, tell Nash to open up to more teams other wise forget it. It doesn't neccesarily mean he has to go to a specific team he might not like, but at least it drives the price up. Gee whiz. Those two players they sent from NY I was never that impressed with. I sure as hell would not think they could get you a franchise player.
