No way Skip. When a player doesn't come with expectations, hard to make them a scapegoat.

I like Meszaros, I'm hoping he stays, but he might be damaged goods. Came this far for Weber, as long as Schenn or Couturier aren't traded I will be ok with a trade. I still believe Nashville has no intention of matching.

Oh lord... That damned third pairing in the SCF. An equal culprit to Leighton.

Not according to NHL Expert and known Mensa member, Daniel Carcillo.

Kind of agree. I think the intention is there, just not the means. They cannot afford it - or they'll be looking for another owner to join the ranks or another ownership group to take over.

Or, the NHL could just up and take over 10% of the teams at that point (NSH, NJD, PHX).

- Flyskippy

Precisely. Agreed. They know it doesn't make any financial sense to match, but they are weighing what the fallout will be from the media and fans.

It's like choosing water torture, or the guillotine.

I'm excited. The fanbase will love Weber. He's not a savior, but he's an elite player in his prime that will be a great player for the Flyers. Total package.

If they really think about it, they could come to the realization that moving the team after the fallout to a Canadian city/city that can actually support them at the gate (such as Quebec, Hamilton, etc.) would be best.

I just wish his name were easily changed to something funny, like his predecessor, Any Elmore.

I never hated Jones. I didn't think he was terrible. Certainly the Flyers have had worse.

How bad was Ryan Parent? My god he was brutal for a player that had a fair amount of potential.

I have heaped praise on Shero for other moves he's made. His hands were tied with Staal, so he did the best he could, but hockey wise, not a trade the helps the Penguins at all imo.

Howson's hands were kinda tied a bit too id say

I want to see a team back in QC. Those Nordiques/Habs series from the 80's were absolutely fantastic. Some of my favorite series to watch.

Somewhat. But he could have dealt Nash at the deadline last year and got a better return imo.

Thanks man. 11 year old but she had nerve damage and couldnt really walk on her back legs anymore. It sucked to have to put her down but I didnt want her to suffer either.
