Nashville is going to say they will match right up to the deadline, only way they can get anything back from Homer.

i agree with that assessment

i just remember from draft weekend everyone killing homer and comparing it to the fantastic job the pens did at the draft. thought you were in that crowd, but i could remember incorrectly

- FlyerMike18

I thought taking Maatta and Thrower were the safer plays, and drafting a position of need, but what do I know. I'm just going by stuff I read. I have never seen any of the guys play. Drafting a project goalie in the second round was a reach.

More mtngs expected in Nashville as owners decide whether or not to match Weber offer sheet. Many around NHL don't think Preds can.

The Preds must be counting all the donation money. See if they can get every penny to match this offer sheet.

I would be more likely to believe a message brought to me by a blind pigeon.

That deal is being reported all over the place now, it was supposedly the offer the Flyers made BEFORE they did the offer sheet.

I suspect they won't have to match. I have a feeling Holmgren is going to cave and trade a package for Weber. I bet Nashville gets a better deal than Columbus just got, while having no intentions of matching all along.

Question:
If they go the Gratton route and the Flyers get some of their 1st round picks back, those will be Nashville picks, right? Meaning, the Flyers will be selecting based on Nashville's standing at the end of the season?

- Jazziac

No, they will be getting their own picks back.

Dreger said that trade offer was BEFORE the offer sheet. Irrelevant now with clock ticking to final 48 hours.

I think the Flyers have a pretty good shot at Bobby Ryan. Rangers didn't have to give up that much to get Nash. The price for Ryan just took a hit. I don't think he wants to stay with the Ducks. The Rangers are probably out of the Ryan picture. I even think if the Flyers decide to trade for Weber, the price has just taken a hit. We'll know pretty soon. Everything should be cleared up by the end of the week.
- JJBraccili

There's one less scoring line Winger available now. I think the price for Ryan, if he's even going to be traded. Went up, not down.

Yup... Especially because multiple teams have legit interest still.
