Yesterday afternoon broke the trade of forward Oliver Bjorkstrand joining the Seattle Kraken in a trade that provided the Columbus Blue Jackets with two draft picks in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

The first draft pick in the deal was a third round pick, that Seattle originally acquired from the Calgary Flames.

The second draft pick in the deal was a fourth round pick, that the Seattle Kraken originally from the Winnipeg Jets.

Bjorkstrand, a third round pick from the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2013 NHL draft had an average points per game at 0.612 in his 7-year tenure with the main roster.

The Danish forward is one of 7 all time forwards to suit for Columbus with 100 goals in the uniform, while on one being one of 4 to be draft to accomplish this feat. 91 of his 111 goals were on even strength; 12 were game winning. His goals per game were 0.29, while his goals created per game was 0.25.

Olly is 8th currently on the all time points list for Columbus with 234 wearing the Union Blue. He also sits 8th with 924 shots.

Bjorkstrand is in the prime of his career, making a market value salary of $5.4M million dollars until the 2026-2027 NHL season.

My story of Oliver Bjorkstrand is from an interaction with an executive high up in the organization. To protect his name, I will keep it disclosed. The story involves his belief in him as the guy to watch and how he is going to be a star with the team.

Olly Olly Oxenfree is the most underrated forward in Columbus Blue Jackets franchise history.
