As most fans are aware NHL teams keep injury information very secret. While required to report injury status, usually the infamous upper- or lower-body injury is the most detail disclosed.

The on-again-off-again play of Anderson throughout the season let me (my opinion, no source) to believe he might be suffering from a nagging injury, or multiple injuries. The extended time off would seem to give him time to recover if that were the case.

We have learned recently that he had shoulder surgery in March and his return to play will not be until at least September. That is a little disappointing as I was hoping to see him make an impact in the series against the Maple Leafs.

In other news on the injury front...

Seth and Kukan have been activated from IR. This is good news and confirms that Seth will play in the playoffs. That is a huge add and solidifies the D-corp.

Former CBJ 1st round draft pick Filatov retires from professional hockey. He had been playing in Russian leagues since 2012. Never reaching his potential in Columbus he was a risky pick by the CBJ as a KHL team claimed he was already under contract. He spent time from 2008 - 2011 on-and-off the CBJ roster. He was then traded to OTT for a 3rd round pick. He played only 44 games in the union blue scoring 6 goals and dishing 7 helpers. For all the hype, he was one of the many CBJ 1st round pick busts.

I guess I was premature in stating that the cities had been selected for the playoffs. Seems that those were only rumors and not official yet. Still, I don't believe that Columbus will be selected.

Good Luck and Go Jackets!
