Another game, another win at the old Ball Arena.

This Colorado Avalanche rallied from a 3-1 second period deficit to steal a 4-3 OT win against the Boston Bruins. It was the 17th straight win at home for the good guys and another come-from-behind triumph for a team that can simply turn it on when they need to.

Cale Makar scored an overtime goal again, a power-play goal, for his 17th goal of the season.

The prototypical Colorado goal secured the additional point, but the captain made sure the team wouldn't suffer its first regulation loss of the season when he tied the game with 37 seconds remaining in the third period.

"Mr. Johnny-on-thespot," Nazem Kadri fed Landeskog who fired a one-timer into the Boston net with Darcy Kuemper pulled for an extra attacker.

Samuel Girard and Kurtis MacDermid scored also scored for the 'Avs.

When MacDermid scored the building almost exploded. Is it me or do the Avalanche fans really love Big Mac?

Kuemper made 29 saves to improve to 20-5-1 this season. It also marked Kuemper's 11th consecutive win. No doubt in my mind that Colorado has its Stanley Cup tandem already.

Kadri added three assists to push his point total to 55 points (16g 39a).

Colorado improved to 30-8-3, becoming the first team to 30 wins this season. Additionally, the 'Avs have won eight straight overall, haven't lost at home since Nov. 3, AND haven't lost in regulation in the month of January (13-0-1).

Two games left in January. Next up....@ Chicago on Friday night.

....

Since the comments are suggesting I do this... I will.

Nathan MacKinnon was injured after being hit high by Taylor Hall. MacKinnon was down on the ice and bleeding from his face and didn't return with a head injury.

Hall was given a major at first but after review, it was rescinded.

It looked like Hall targeted Mac. I didn't like it one bit. Then again I'm not much of a Hall fan, to begin with.
