It's Time To Talk Mock Draft 2.0

Hey TentaClan!

Apologies for the big delays in blogs over the past month. There hasn't been much for news to discuss about Seattle and I'll sheepishly admit I've been distracted watching actual hockey games once more.

That being said we are approaching two months since my last Mock Draft finished and the end of the first month of the regular season. We have a general idea of how every team values their lineup and players and a better glimpse into who may or may not be protected.

It's time to do another Mock Draft.

We are going to switch up the rules a little bit this time. I am going to reach out to my fellow bloggers for first dibs on providing me their Protection Lists. Each list must include:

- The proper protection numbers (7/3/1, 4/4/1, etc)
- The 2 Forwards, 1 Defenseman, and 1 goaltender that meet exposure requirements

In addition, because I am asking people to play GM, I am allowing them to make any assumptions on signings or allow them to have players with NMC's waive them. Part of the fun of this Mock Draft will be to see how closely people are able to guess what their respective teams final lists look like.

So the Oilers blogger (great guy by the way) can assume that Edmonton is extending Ryan Nugent Hopkins or if Todd Cordell (also a great guy, hope he helps me out here) wants to assume that Milan Lucic waives his NMC than he may do so.

The one thing I am not allowing people to assume is that a pending UFA will agree to wait until after July 1 to sign a new deal so that their team can have an extra protection spot. On the other hand, as the Seattle GM I may make the decision to sign a pending UFA if their GM decides to leave them open.

A couple of extra rules and thoughts for this go around:

1.) I am opening the floor to trades this time around. GM's may approach me with offers of picks and other players with the condition to not select certain players.

2.) This time I will not be making a pick at the end of each blog. I will wait until I have all 30 lists before I start to reveal the team that I am drafting for Seattle. I may even open up the floor to you the readers in this regard.

3.) Anything else? I want you all to be involved and have some fun with this. Please post in the comments section any other thoughts or ideas you would like to see for this Mock Draft.

Thanks for reading!
