So far. So good.

The New Jersey Devils are 3-1-0 in preseason after playing four games in five days. New Jersey will play the Boston Bruins tonight at home and in Boston on Saturday while playing the New York Islanders on Thursday this week.

WOO NOTES:

Goaltending

Both MacKenzie Blackwood and Vitek Vanacek have played really well. Although it is a small sample size, Devils goaltending woes of the past maybe over and if all goes to plan, Devils coach Lindy Ruff will have a competitive 1a and 1b goalie tandem on his roster. If both can stay healthy and consistent, New Jersey will be pushing for a playoff spot in a competitive Metropolitan Division.

Dougie Hamilton Is Back!

Dougie Hamilton had a roller coaster ride with the Devils last season after signing long term with New Jersey during the free agent frenzy summer of 2021. Hamilton made a great first impression in front of the home crowd by scoring a goal early into the game against the Chicago Blackhawks in the season opener. The twin tower duo of Hamilton and Ryan Graves was dominant at times during the first two and half months of season.

But when Hamilton got hit in the face with a puck, he broke his jaw and missed a good portion of the season. Hamilton came back in March but did not look like his usual self and was relegated to the second power play unit.

After getting acclimated with New Jersey during the summer, looks like the old Dougie Hamilton is back and is getting involved offensively. Hamilton has two goals and two assists so far this preseason.
