Where do we go from here?

It hasn't been pretty of late.
One step forward, two steps back.

At 8-14-3 you have to start wondering what moves the organization will make.
As the April 12th Trade deadline comes you would have to assume more than one trade will happen. Palmieri, Subban, Gusev, Kulikov, Zajac, Vatanen are some names you'd think are being at least inquired about. And the Devils would be foolish not to listen.

Then there is Ruff and the coaching staff. Are they the problem? Not according to the players when they mention the coaching staff. I particularly don't think a coaching change will benefit, but I also believe Ruff won't be around when the Devils become a playoff team.

And from an organization level and business point of view, the Devils and The Rock need to put a good "product" on the ice and be a playoff team. Yes we have Hughes, Smith, Blackwood. The cross-town rivals have Panarin, Kakko, Barzal and a better records.

Onto the Islanders...

Coach Ruff continues to work his lines up and down.

McLeod and Bastian have been the real constant. And they have exceeded expectations in my opinion. A year or two ago they had moved down the pipeline depth chart. Today they are the new era 4th line grinders. And doing a great job at it!

Vatanen has come under a lot of scrutiny late. And I agree. Seems like his head is elsewhere, he is always happy though. He could benefit from a healthy scratch day.

What should be our first organization moves for the Devils?
And when do you expect this to be a playoff team?

Good questions for discussion.
