The Devils get a chance to redeem their last outing with a 7pm tilt against the Islanders.

Coach Ruff played a little bit the with lines, leaving the top line as the only intact one. He did say not to read too much into the shuffle.

We will see Merkley step in while Boqvist, not Johnsson, sits one out. Surprised Johnsson isn't taking a seat on the side.
I am excited to see a little new blood in the lineup and chances given to other youngsters before Bratt, Nico and Vatanen limit the ability for such.

Scott Wedgewood is again the likely starter while Blackwood satisfies his COVID Protocol.

The blue line will be intact and no word on Butcher or Carrick, mainly because we have see good play from the 3rd pair of Smith and Tennyson. As much as Id like to see Tennyson replaced.... can't argue with the contribution he has given so far.

As for injury updates....
Nico is improving. Bratt is fulfilling his quarantine and ,if all goes well, we should see him take practice this week.

REVERSE RETRO

The Devils announced six games where they will use their new Reverse Retro Green Jersey.
2/9 vs Penguins
2/23 vs Islanders
3/5 vs Rangers
3/16 vs Sabers ***St. Patrick's Day and the green will be very appropriate with a leprechaun hat.
3/21 vs Penguins
4/2 vs Capitals

I think Adidas crushed it with the Devils version of the Reverse Retro concept. Definitely one of the best jerseys which still has meaning and a foundation linked to the team and original Christmas Jerseys.

I got my first jersey in some time (last jersey was a Schneider Red) and I decided to go with the Reverse Retro Hughes.

Adidas has done a great job with the jerseys and the material which rivals the CCM and Nike versions. The Reverse Retro has a nice silver NHL logo at the bottom of the collar with adds a nice touch. If you get a chance to take a look at one, you should also be surprised.

A lot of people have asked about size. The Large 52 fit me just right (I am 6ft 197lbs) and the Large allows room for a sweatshirt underneath comfortably.

What a blockbuster between the Jets and Jackets, huh?
Devils, I don't believe, were ever serious contenders for PLD, as I stated in my last blog. But I do think that the Laine/Roslovic side won - for now. The addition of Roslovic and the 3rd going the other way, suggests that Laine may be "flight" risk for the Jackets after his contract is over.
Laine needs to stick around for the to be a hands down win.

Exciting trade for sure.

Let's go Devils!!!!

Truly yours,
