Coach
Jared Bednar was iffy at best when asked about the status of
Cale Makar for the Avalanche’s game on Tuesday against Vegas at T-Mobile Arena.
"Still day-to-day,” Bednar said while the players were still on the ice Tuesday morning. “Technically he is probably a game-time decision here for tonight.”
Makar, the Avalanche’s second-leading scorer with 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) in 11 games, missed his first game Sunday because of an upper-body injury.
"I'll get word on how he feels and then he'll let me know if he is good for tonight or not,” Bednar said. “So he is close. I just don't know if it's going to be tonight or not. As of right now, the lineup is staying the same."
Here are the
GAME NOTES.
Philipp Grubauer will make his 11th start after making 23 saves Sunday in the Avalanche’s 1-0 loss to the Golden Knights.
Adam Werner will be the backup again with
Hunter Miska on the COVID-19 protocol list with
Gabriel Landeskog, Samuel Girard, Tyson Jost and
Kiefer Sherwood. Sherwood isn’t listed on the NHL media site, but he is listed as unavailable on the Avalanche web site.
Peyton Jones was promoted to the taxi squad to give them three goalies.
