We have 9 games tonight and putting aside playoff implications we all know the hockey world will be tuned in to see the Caps/Rangers game. If I may add one small comment on Tom Wilson. If someone from the Rangers decided to do the same thing to Ovechkin or Backstrom, maybe then the Caps locker room would get on Wilson to get him to stop his antics if the tables were flipped! I guess we shall see tonight.
Vegas and Minnesota highlight the card tonight as the Wild pulled off an incredible comeback 2 nights ago! Lets see how this potential first round match up plays out tonight.
**I have started to research teams that come off at least a 5 game road trip and how they fare in their first game back home.** Its 11-8 to date.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are rested, either sitting at home or on the road while their opponent plays the night before. 25-12 over the last month of tracking it! The under is 22-14-1 in these spots.
Scenario #2 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 81-53.
Scenario #3 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 40-33-2 when teams play on the road back to back nights.
Scenario #4 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 95-69 in that situation.
