Last night, we took a bath as they say. Worst night I've had in over a month, but hey it happens, and now onto tonight's card. But what did we learn from last night?! Montreal was outshot and outplayed again for the 2nd straight night and pushed Vegas to OT. They're getting healthy and starting to play better hockey. The Oilers have officially quit on their coach and last night those players should be ashamed of themselves for quitting the way they did! Favs went 8-1 last night, but lately, the road teams over the last few nights are really starting to come in, home teams were only 5-4. Totals are balancing out now, with overs gong 5-4 same with 1st-period overs. We have an 8 game card tonight, analysis below.
NYR/CAR - Tough spot for the NYR tonight, off a home win over TOR but prior to that 5 game roadie, now back on the road to Carolina. The Canes have been off since Tuesday and have played far fewer games the last few weeks compared to NYR! Lean to Carolina -160.
PITT/CLB - Pitt faded last night vs. Ottawa and were lucky again to win, just like in Vegas earlier this week. Pitt 6 games on the road, home for a game vs. Ottawa now at Columbus while the Jackets won at Philly last night. Very small lean to CLB +160.
DAL/DET - Dallas won last night at Buff, while Detroit sat rested. The Wings have been off since Monday while Dallas played Tuesday and Thursday. Strong lean to Detroit at even money.
AZ/NYI - The NYI has no business being a -265 fav. In fact, the Yotes have won 3 of their last 5, one of those losses a shootout loss to COL as well, but all of this has been done with HC Andre Tourigny out since Jan. 10th with covid, they're on a roll with Phil Housley and Cory Stillman as the acting HC's. NYI has the Leafs and Flyers on deck so looking ahead wouldn't surprise me. Lean to AZ +219.
MINN/CHI - The Wild have been off since Monday night and start a home and home set with Chicago tonight. The Hawks are in the same boat, rested since Monday and Fleury has started 7 straight games, so I expect him to play one of these 2 games. Small lean to Minny -145.
FL/VAN - Florida won last night over EDM while the Canucks sat rested at home. The Panthers are playing 3 in 4 nights on the road. Demko is in the covid protocol so Halak will start in goal and they will have revenge on their minds from 10 days ago when they lost in Florida. Canucks off a 5 game roadie, Western Conf. teams are 3-6 off a 5 game roadie in their first game back at home but they have been off since Tuesday night.
TB/ANA - TB has won 6 of their last 7 games while the Ducks have lost 4 in a row and are ravaged by key injuries. But TB -221 is a steep price for a road team. Ducks +190 might be worth a small play as TB has SJ on deck. Ducks hit the road for 5 straight on the east coast after tonight's game.
STL/SEA -The Blues were rested in Seattle last night while the Kraken beat SJ and won their 2nd straight. STL off since Monday night, lean to the Blues -180.
