After a rather miserable end to a home stand that got started with such promise, the Nashville Predators are on their annual, two week early season odyssey, this year taking the team to Detroit, Colorado, San Jose and Vancouver… actually a rathe relaxed pace for this roadie… only four games in eight days. We will review the month after we preview tonight’s match up with the Detroit Red Wings.

Detroit comes into tonight’s game with a 4-10-1 record, losing their last five games. … unfortunately, one of those wins came in Smashville. The Wings have really their way with the Predators over the last few years, they have won seven of the past ten games played between these two teams. After back-to-back losses, the Predators will need to bring their A-Game tonight.

Nashville gets this roadie going with a full compliment of bodies as they IR list is clear. Detroit lists Danny DeKeyser and Luke Glendening on the injured reserve list. I would expect Pekka Rinne back between the pipes as Juuse Saros got the nod this past Saturday in a loss to the New York Rangers that snapped a six-game point streak for the Predators. The team played … well… OK. But they let the Rangers get on top early and by the time the offense began to flow, Rangers netminder Alexander Greorgiev was in the zone.

The Preds should have a chip on their shoulder tonight, game time is 6:30pm central… coverage on 102.5 the Game and Fox Sports Tennessee.

So… let’s take a look at the November schedule, after a very solid October, Nashville got the month started with a loss… OK they happen, but tonight is a way for Nashville to begin to turn around their fortunes with Detroit, then an extra day off before the Preds get to Denver for their first showdown with a wounded Av’s team. A trip to Northern California to take on the Sharks, then a quick trip to Vancouver for a match against the resurgent Canucks to end the roadie.

Nashville then returns to Music City for five of their next six, starting off with two important divisional matchups, one with Chicago… who has to have a burr under their saddle after their poor showing here in October… then the Preds first game against Winnipeg of the season and Vancouver comes to town for the second game of the season series. The Predators then start a home and home with St. Louis, starting Saturday night at Enterprise Center, then Monday night in Smashville… a heckuva way to get Thanksgiving Week started.

Thanksgiving Eve has the Vegas Golden Knights in Smashville to end the home stand… the Predators will enjoy their Thanksgiving Dinner then take an evening flight to Carolina as they finish the month with a back-to-back against the Hurricanes and Florida.

It’s been a solid start to the season as the Predators are 8-4-2 going into tonight’s game. Look for the Predators to improve on their 2-2-0 road record as they begin to even up the schedule.

Random Notes – Presented by

- The reveal of the Winter Classic jersey brought out the comments on social media… I have to say… I really like it… the laces and especially the nod to Nashville’s hockey history with the Dixie Flyers style.

- The first Hockey Fights Cancer Night was wonderful… Smashville raised over $60,000 on Saturday and more is coming in…

- The Flames' Milan Lucic is at it again… suspended again… this time for two games for an incident in Saturday’s game against Columbus.

- The soap opera in Winnipeg is getting weirder. So now, suspended Dustin Byfuglien is injured and should be paid? This is going to get interesting.

- The knives are out in the Detroit media for Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill. Claiming lack of effort is on the coach… Stevie Y has a lot of work to do in the Motor City.

- Tonight’s NHL schedule – 6pm – PIT @ BOS, OTT @ NYR. 6:30PM - NSH @ DET. 8pm – ARI @ EDM.
