First off, for the latest Sens updates, please follow me on Twitter at

We've finally arrived at the last pre-season game for the Ottawa Senators with the season opener only five days away at Buffalo. But tonight's game won't be without some potential drama after comments made by head coach DJ Smith the other day, regarding Tim Stutzle. He felt that the Montreal Canadiens have targetted him more than anyone and that he'll have his guys ready for tonight, meaning we could see some extra physical play to repay the favour. I'm glad that DJ went on record calling out Montreal, showing his players and the fanbase that this team is indeed ready to turn the corner this season with hopefully far more success on the ice.

Looking ahead to tonight, I wonder if DJ should change his defense pairings to see what kind of results it might yield prior to the season opener. Here's what I propose for the pairings on the blue line tonight, to see if the results change at all. Now, there's a good chance some players will be rested tonight, but I would even go as far as playing JBD with Chabot as they played together for a half dozen games last year when the injury bug hit. Chabot even said he liked how the two gelled together. With the result not meaning too much tonight, DJ needs to experiment a bit here with his defense.

If you didn't have the chance to the behind scenes aspects of the Sens' last game as part of Kraft Hockeyville, go to the Sens Communications Twitter account to watch the five-minute video.

Another great story about Wade's World, back in the day until now with Wade Redden and CHEO was posted on Oct. 4th on the Sens Communications Twitter account.

After tonight's game and we go into Sunday/Monday, expect more roster moves. At that point, I will post some info regarding Sens rumours. But as I mentioned in my last blog, expect to see Pierre Dorion offer Derrick Brassard a contract, while possibly placing Nikita Zaitsev and Dylan Gambrell on waivers in the coming days.

Thoughts Sens fans?! Will we have a brawl tonight with how DJ has called out the Habs players? Will we see some creative defense pairings?
Thanks for reading.
