First off, for the latest Sens updates, please follow me on Twitter at

For one night in over five seasons, Sens fans got to feel like how it used to be in the early part of this century when they won division or conference titles or went to the Stanley Cup Final back in 2007. Nothing but positive vibes tonight from the pre-game fanfest until the final whistle.
Mark Goudie and OSEG could take a page out of the Sens marketing department when announcing you're doing $5 a beer at the fanfest. If any Redblack's fan knows how it can be, when OSEG tells their fans the same thing, you can't find any of the so-called $5 beer on the concourse as they only offer it at one place in the entire stadium. With the CTC, everyone knew where to find the $5 beer and it was a welcomed marketing approach! The atmosphere and vibe outside the CTC before the game was off the charts!
The positive vibes and atmosphere outside the CTC carried over into the arena for puck drop. When the music hit "Beautiful Day" by U2, everyone in the arena knew that Daniel Alfredsson was about to do the opening puck drop prior to the game. The arena erupted when they showed him on the jumbotron sitting in the Sens locker room in a Sens jersey and puck in hand. What a great move it was by management to have Alfie usher in a new era in this city!
I want to keep this blog ultra-positive after a big win by the Sens. I will get into issues that plague this team as the homestand continues, but for now, let's focus on these Ottawa Senators for a huge 7-5 on home ice. Brady Tkachuk, Drake Batherson, and Tim Stutzle all had three point nights which was great to see as they broke out with an offensive explosion after two rough road losses.
To hear the GO SENS GO chants prior to the game and throughout the game, the building was buzzing over two hours before puck drop!
I would love to hear Sens' fans' experiences tonight, post in detail in the comment section of the blog. Thousands of Sens' fans have experienced heart ache for the last five years, but tonight was a great diversion from that ache.....to feel great about their team again!
Thanks for reading.
