Brendan Gallagher wasn't at practice this morning and it was announced that he wouldn't be playing tonight and is being evaluated for a lower body injury. While this is very bad news for Gallagher who's struggled to stay healthy in the last few years, it will give Juraj Slafkovsky another chance to move up in the line-up. Tonight, he'll get a chance to play alongside Sean Monahan and Josh Anderson, a combination I was honestly dying to see. That's going to be a very heavy line with a lot of skills and there's no doubt that Sean Monahan will be extremely motivated tonight against his former team.

As for Mike Hoffman, he's been put on injured reserve and Rem Pitlick has been recalled from Laval to fill up his roster spot. Head coach Martin St-Louis has said that if Pitlick gets to Calgary with sufficient time to spare, he'll dress and play on the 4th line. If he doesn't have enough preparation time, Chris Wideman will be back in the line-up and play as a 7th defenseman.

In net, Jake Allen will get the start even if his performance in the last game was far from satisfying. While I would have given the start to Samuel Montembeault, I can understand what St-Louis is trying to do, give his number 1 a chance to regain some confidence. The game starts at 9:00 PM tonight, which is still early compared to next week's matchups with the Canucks and the Kraken which will start respectively at 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM.
