Markov?

I'll go straight to the point, I would have taken Markov back for a year even if he did want a $2 M contract. Why? Because the way I see it, he's better than both Mike Reilly and Brett Kulak (I reserve my opinion on Chiarot, I've not seen him play enough to be able to tell). I know, he's not fast enough but that has been the case for several years since the knee operations that took some mobility away from him but he's always managed to make up for it with sharp decision making and high hockey IQ. Plus, I would have loved it if he could have played 10 more games with the Habs to get to the 1000 games plateau. Maybe I'm just too much of a sentimental but the man gave a lot to this team and it would have been great to see him retire in Red, White and Blue.¤

All that being said though, for all those blogging sites out there willingly spreading the rumour, there is good old RDS who always aims to get the real story out there. Turns out that Markov's agent did reach out, but the Canadiens never followed through on the approach. So, there you have it, we can all stop arguing over whether it's a good idea or not since it's a non-starter.

Looks like the Canadiens will start the season with the defense corps they have under contract right now for better or for worst... What do you think is the blue line better or worst than last season?
