Detroit signed Antti Tuomisto to a 2 year ELC that kicks in for the 23/24 campaign. Picked in the 2nd round of Yzerman’s first draft as Wing’s GM, the 6’5” right shot was tied for points leader as a defenseman in Finlands SM-Liiga league with 5 goals and 20 assists. This was also the highest of any defenseman in that league 23 or under.

It’s certainly good to see another right shot D officially on the books. My assumption is that, barring an insanely good camp, Tuomisto will likely start next year in Grand Rapids.

My apologies for missing the Colorado game. Some things are turning the corner but we’ve got some other tough stuff coming for family in general. I’m hoping to tune in tonight, but it seems clear that it’s going to be a bumpy road to the end of the season.
