The Golden Knights Fan Experience

For the first time in a long time, fans were let back in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for a Vegas Golden Knights game. The club welcomed 2,599 fans, media members, staff, and me attending in the crowd to get the “fan experience”.

Monday night’s return was unlike any other hockey game I have attended in my life. Some aspects were great (the legroom!) and some weren’t so hot (hearing fake crowd noise), but it signifies a step in the right direction.

Fans were allowed back, under strict COVID/Health and Safety protocols, with the arena going as far as banning purses and bags. Once again, it’s a step in the right direction.

Speaking of steps, throughout the rest of this article, you will be following my steps, sights, and sounds last night. With the crowd limited to 15%, many fans were left out of the festivities. Well here’s how the night went...

First off, the email with all the rules. The team directed you to their COVID/Health and Safety Protocol site, but they added this graphic in the actual email.

Heading Down, Empty Elevator!

Off the elevator and ready to go!

So much room for activities!

Another warning!

Almost in!

Stay in your seats!

So wide open; it’s beautiful!

The Holy Grail and more warnings

Fans are in the house!

This intro is so much cooler in the crowd!

Golden Pipes, Carnell Johnson, always does the National Anthem justice

An epic OT win and a salute to the fans in attendance

The Golden Knights gave up two quick goals to Nick Bonino and Marcus Foligno, as the second period was coming to a close. Those goals put them down 4-2 headed into the third and some fans around me were not happy. Below is one of my favorite quotes.

Social distancing wasn’t a thing on the way out

Overall, it was a great game and the fans had a blast watching their team score three unanswered goals to win the game. Mark Stone had five primary assists and was rightfully named the First Star of the Game.

A Wednesday rematch is on the horizon for these two teams. If the photos have shown you anything, it’s to be prepared and give yourself extra time to adhere to the protocols.

For a true fan experience, I indulged in the chicken tenders from Neon Eats. Let’s put it this way, it made me miss the Press Box meals.

If you’re going to Wednesday’s game, enjoy yourself and welcome back! As the players have admitted, it’s not the same without ya!
