The Rangers, after four days off, will play three games in four nights starting tomorrow in Columbus. Filip Chytil won't play against the Blue Jackets and likely is questionable at best the next night against the Devils, but might be an option against the Canadiens on Tuesday, Gerard Gallant was interviewed by Arthur Staple of The Athletic with two excerpts below.

With no Chytil, it pretty much confirms this will be tomorrow's lineup vs. #CBJ

Kreider - Zib - Blais
Panarin - Strome - Kakko
Laf - Goodrow - Gauthier
Hunt - Rooney - Reaves

Lindgren - Fox
Miller - Trouba
Nemeth - Nils

Gallant on Chytil. In my view, with all the travel issues these days, leave Chytil in New York. Have him skate Saturday and see if he could be an option Sunday or at least Monday

Will Chytil play tomorrow, “Probably not, but he skated for half an hour before we got on the ice, so that was good.”
Will he come to Columbus, “I’m not sure, I gotta find out. I don’t think he is, but I gotta find out.”

What is clear from the interview and column is that with Gallant what you see is what you get. He knows his strengths and doesn't deviate from them. In addition, the focus continues to - and should - remain on creating more shots and limiting the Grade-A chances. That could be said for the other 31 teams in the league, but it's good, especially on the latter piece, that the coaching staff has not put their head in the sand thinking all is well and Igor having to bail out the team is a sustainable approach.

“I don’t change much. I am who I am,” Gallant told The Athletic this week. “Try and treat the players real fair, give them their time and space.

“It’s been a bit of a struggle, we’ve given up too many shots, we’re not creating enough and it’s got to change. Hopefully this week, we’ll get a lot better as a team. I like our team. There’s a lot of skill there. If we can just buy in, stop giving up so many shots, so many grade-A chances. They’ll get it. They’re all good kids and they want to work hard. I think we can take it to the next level for sure.”

A friend of mine is auctioning off a signed Adam Fox jersey to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My friend used to work with Fox's father, who got his son to autograph the jersey, so I can tell you that the autograph is authentic. Happy to answer any questions and please share the tweet with your colleagues
