Monday begins Phase 3 or the start of training camp. Phase 4 is slated to start August 1, presuming all stays normal. On Monday, we will know the Rangers' training camp roster, which as of now, only the defensemen have been confirmed.

For TPC, with 20 days until the start of playoff action, here is a video of all of Chris Kreider. #20's, playoff goals.

If the below schedule is accurate, we get a clear sense who the NHL is highlighting in the playoffs, at least in the first five days.  Here is a hint, it isn't the Rangers. The Blueshirts are scheduled to play twice at 12 noon and once at 4pm in the first five days of playoff action. Montreal-Pittsburgh and Columbus-Toronto get the coveted 8pm time slots in the East.

None of this shocking, especially who the NHL is highlighting. We all figured Pittsburgh-Montreal and Columbus-Toronto, factoring in Canadian teams in each matchup and the Toronto hub, would be in prime time. The prime time late game in the Pacific has Edmonton-Chicago and Minnesota-Vancouver (twice) with Calgary-Winnipeg once.

Update as of 9:40 Monday morning: Rangers announced their roster. Michael Haley is in camp, but on IR. Brandon Crawley added, which is the new d-man on the list compared to what was originally reported. K'Andre Miller part of Phase 3, which should be a good experience for him. Same for Adam Huska, who gives the team a fourth goalie in camp.

Vince Mercogliano provided his likely 18 forwards. Interesting is that he notes Boo Nieves is unlikely to be part of the roster while Michael Haley is recovering from bilateral muscle surgery. In addition, if the list is accurate, Matt Beleskey is also not on the camp roster. The eight blueliners were noted Friday, which as we discussed is a bit surprising, as at least 1-3 more were expected. The 26 total is four less than allowed, so New York does have some flexibility if others need to be added, but odd not to carry a full complement of players right from the start. Alexandar Georgiev, Henrik Lundqvist and Igor Shesterkin are the three goalies.

Forwards (18)

Pavel Buchnevich, Filip Chytil, Phil Di Giuseppe, Jesper Fast, Steven Fogarty, Julien Gauthier, Tim Gettinger, Brett Howden, Kaapo Kakko, Vitali Kravtsov, Chris Kreider,
Brendan Lemieux, Vinni Lettieri, Greg McKegg. Danny O’Regan, Artemi Panarin, Ryan Strome and Mika Zibanejad

Defense (8)

Tony DeAngelo, Adam Fox, Libor Hájek, Ryan Lindgren, Darren Raddysh, Brendan Smith,
Marc Staal and Jacob Trouba

Compare and contrast below. My guess is that Kappo Kakko goes the Max Domi route and not the one followed by Luke Kunin. This is another reason why having extra forwards in camp makes sense. Kakko has said he wants to play, but the results of his exam and if he needs to get his own clearance to play, will drive how both sides proceed.
