The Coyotes, who recently lost a lot of ground to the Flyers in the mascot circuit, willbe without recently acquired centre Alex Galchenyuk to start the season.

While no confirmed information is known, speculation is that it is a groin injury that will cost him two weeks, but which is not serious and that the two weeks are strictly precautionary.

It does make sense the Coyotes would be careful with their new asset, however NHL teams are overly secretive and the only thing you can really is what the team's twitter account said: which is that it's a lower body injury that will keep him out 'week to week.'

With Dvorak also possibly missing the start of the season, this is a great opportunity for Dylan Strome to take complete control of a roster spot.

As for the roster that will start the season, the Coyote are getting there. Yesterday they cut four players - Micheal Bunting, Cam Dineen, Dyson Mayo and Dakota Mermis.

This is at least the part of camp where recognizable names are being sent back the AHL, but there were no surprises in that group.

Today the team cut Hudson Fasching, Kyle Capobianco, Adin Hill, Kevin Klima, Jens Looke, Hunter Miska, Lane Peterson and Robbi Russo.

All this per NHL.com who also mentioned that the Coyotes have 31 players left in camp.

Whith Dauphin, Chychrun, Dvorak and Galchenyuk all injured, there likely will be some surprise additions to the opening night roster.

We will talk about them tomorrow.
