Last night 2-1 -.20 Units
YTD 12-8 +5.37 Units

It was one of those nights when you win 2 out of 3 of your plays but you lose units due to not hitting the 2 Unit play. We all have to remember the season is only a week old and every team is still inputting defensive systems, finding line combinations that work together and goaltenders are really trying to find their way with no pre-season.

Two new angles that I have been tracking that might be something to look at both short and long term are as follows.

Scenario #1 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 8-2! If we apply this logic tonight, both the Ottawa Senators and LA Kings fall into this category tonight. The Sens lost to the Jets 4-3 in OT, while the Kings lost to the Avs 3-2 on Tuesday night.
Scenario #2 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 4-1 when teams play on the road back to back nights. If we apply this logic tonight, the Montreal Canadiens fall into this category tonight. Play them under 6 on the total tonight.

One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 9-6 in that situation. If you look back to last night, three teams fell in that category, they were Minnesota, Arizona and SJ. Two out of three teams won last night. Tonight, Montreal would fall into this system.

As for 1st period totals going over, it has taken a huge hit the last few nights. Last night it went 1-4, 23-30 on the season. The last three nights it’s 5-18. While road teams were 2-3, 17-27 on the season.

Game totals going over the total went 2-3 last night, 31-21-1, which is still a very profitable angle.

Tonight’s plays –
Ottawa – ML(+110)(2 Units)As I mentioned above, playing an angle involving scenario #1. Looks like both teams will be starting different goalies than they did on Tuesday night when they faced each other.

Montreal/Vancouver u6.5(-135)(1 Unit)I am making this a system play, with the Habs playing back to back road games on consecutive nights.

Feel free to ask any questions in the blog and I always get back to everyone. I will have Twitter and Instagram going shortly. Good luck tonight!
