Will We See RFA Holdouts?

The signing by Columbus of winger Kirill Marchenko checks off another unsigned RFA this summer, but most of the players heading to arbitration (like Martin Necas and Ryan Lindgren) will agree to a contract extension before their meeting.

The situations that could linger through August and closing in on training camp will be RFA’s like Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider of Detroit, Carolina’s Seth Jarvis, and Dallas defenseman Thomas Harley. All are looking for big paydays coming off good seasons and the only leverage they have could be a holdout if their clubs are not stepping up.
