Start here today....

The Ottawa Senators extended Thomas Chabot today for 8 years at $8M per....which quite frankly could be looked at as a steal in a few year's time. Chabot was nothing less than spectacular last year and his growth continues to progress as the Sens have found themselves everything they could have hoped for in their quest to replace Karlsson....Chabot's number really sets the tone for All-Star D men.

Also...gotta LOVE the Sens twitter posting this:

On The Jets issues.

The Jets have been destroyed on the right side of their defense and currently are sitting there with two highly valuable, but unsigned RFAs...Word is they are willing to listen to offers if they can get a top pairing D-man in return.... Options? I have heard Carolina, Philly, and Arizona as possible new destinations....This can be added to Montreal and the Islanders, who both continue to show interest in trading for Patrik Laine.

On Brayden Point.

There are reports out there that Point's agent is saying the sides are still very far apart. It will be interesting to see what kind of pressure mounts in Tampa...this is a team that knows it can exist for quite some time without Point, but eventually will need a player many are comparing to a young Patrice Bergeron, back in the lineup...

more to come.
