So as we launch into the second half of the NHL season the trade rumors are picking up...BIG time...
On Panarin...
There is some renewed hope as the agent for Panarin is setting up a new meeting with the Jackets. This doesn't mean Panarin is returning, but there is at least some hope here...If there is hope you need to give Columbus management a TON of credit for handling this situation so well. Panarin has been obvious about his desire to leave and the Jackets have been just saying, "Ok, well you are here now. No hard feelings..." The Jackets NEVER got into a pissing match with Panarin or Bobrovsky...This meeting could also just be about the trade deadline and agents often play into trades...Perhaps Panarin's agent has a few teams he could talk to now for an extension and that could give Columbus a better return if they are willing to move him NOW.
On Mark Stone...
Stone and the Sens are very on again/off again right now...The Oilers, Flyers and Flames are all extremely interested...even heard the Sharks name again over the weekend...
Penguins looking at either Dzingel or Ferland...
There are a slew of teams looking at both players, but Pittsburgh is really being the most aggressive...but if you look on the rumor chart now you will see Ferland has SEVEN possible destinations, while Dzingel has 5...
On Wayne Simmonds...
It is starting to sound more and more like the Flyers want to get it done...This deal is ALL about term (Simmonds looking for much longer deal than the Flyers are offering. In my experience deals that are about term tend to find a way to get done...
On Andre Burakovsky...
This is a deal that can get done...There are three real interested teams...Edmonton, Nashville and Vancouver...I give the Canucks the inside track from what I have heard...
