The Anaheim Ducks may have learned a lesson with not being proactive with defenseman Cam Fowler a few years back. Instead of going with another bridge deal, the Ducks signed goalie John Gibson to an eight-year, $51.2 Million deal on Saturday ($6.4 Million AAV).

Gibson, 25, had a 2.43 GAA and .926 save percentage in 60 games with the Ducks last season and after next season would have been one year away from unrestricted free agency.
