On the Islanders and Penguins.

This is is the classic battle. Offense versus Defense. So far this year the Penguin got the better of the Isles winning 6 of the 8 games and looking confident doing so. This is a battle of two of the best coaches in the NHL and who will be able to let his team play to their strengths. The Isles hold a definite edge in goal and on defense, but the Penguins are way ahead in the scoring abilities...and they already were prior to landing jeff Carter...

I see this as a back-and-forth series, and I really don't see the Islanders sweeping the Penguins like they did two years ago in the playoffs. THIS should be a war and I wouldn't at all be shocked if we see Sorokin before the series is over...

My pick: Isles in 6

I will be adding the other two KILLER series as the day goes, prior to the teams taking the ice in Vegas and Florida.

On the Knights vs. Wild.
This series could have easily been a semifinal series had the Wild played in the Central. There is no doubt that we are looking at one of these top teams being eliminated in the opening round...which is crazy... Vegas may be the most balanced team in the NHL and they are the team many are picking to go all the way...Since they entered the league they have been dominant against almost everyone...except, oddly enough...the Wild.

The Wild are 11-2-2 against Vegas since they entered the NHL. 5-1-2 this season.

Does this matter now that we are in the playoffs?

I really do believe it does... My pick: Minnesota in 6
