Calgary Wants to Keep Kadri, But Offers Getting “Very Tempting.”

It’s summertime and of course, that means Nazem Kadri rumors!

To be clear, Calgary wants to keep Kadri, who is under contract through 2029 and holds a full no-move clause until July 2026…when it shifts to a 13-team NMC. Talking to my sources around the league, it’s clear that Calgary is getting a lot of calls about him and are absolutely not shopping him at this time…

And for good reason.

Kadri is coming off a very strong season… 35 goals and 67 points over 82 games. He has in fact missed very few games over the last several years …He is also a locker room guy who is quite respected in Calgary…

So why all the rumors?

It’s pretty simple really. Kadri is a unique player and the kind of player that teams are looking more and more to add to their lineup. He plays a very Florida Panthers type game and this is very much a copycat league…a source has also confirmed to me the Flames could get quite the ransom for him and the question is “Are the Calgary Flames in a rebuild?”

Who is interested?

Of course, the Leafs are always tied back to Kadri, but I really don’t see that….Montreal, Carolina, NJ, and a return to Colorado are the other teams currently showing interest….It should be noted the Avalanche still miss Kadri, who was a key part of their Cup run….

What say you?
