Jason Zucker has issued an apology to head coach. Bruce Boudreau, following his calling out of the entire team and by name Boudreau.

The comments were in reaction to the worst start in franchise history as the Wild have just one win through seven games.

Today they host the Canadiens for only their second home game of the season.

We will see what transpires following the teams' players only closed door meeting on Thursday night in Montreal.

Mats Zuccarello has officially been placed on IR and Gabriel Dumont has been recalled from Iowa. Dumont has three goals and five points through the AHL Wild's first five games.

There is nowhere but up to go for the hapless Wild. Expect the team to try and get back to basics with a simple approach to the game allowing the speed challenged Wild team to slow the game down.

Devan Dubnyk will be back between the pipes looking to be better himself.

It will also be interesting to see if the Wild can get the offense going at all off the rush. To date we have yet to see them score in that manner. That in itself is cause for concern that the issues run much deeper than it just being a lack of effort or heart.

Changes in personnel are needed or at the very least a change in the ice time that many of the Wild veteran forwards have been used to seeing.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
