Wild Rolling Along...Decisions?

Kaapo Kahkonen won his 9th straight while recording his second shutout in his last three games. The Wild completed the three game home sweep of the Coyotes, outscoring them in the process 11-1 (7-0 in the third periods).

Bill Guerin is already busy, but he is about to embark on a critical juncture in the Wild transformation process. Are the Wild ahead of schedule on the rebuild/makeover, or are they a product of a favorable division?

There is an argument for some of both here, however, this Wild team has shown it can every bit compete with Colorado and Vegas who were and are still projected Stanley Cup contenders. They have yet to play the third such top team in the West, St. Louis, but that will happen next week on Thursday when the two meet in St. Paul and then the two will meet for three straight beginning April 9.

So the trade deadline is drawing closer and the Wild are more buyer than seller at this point, however they do need to keep the plan in place to build this team methodically and not alter the course due to the short-term success.

The expansion draft becomes a factor with the Wild defense situation and the potential loss of Matt Dumba, with no return. However, as I wrote before that $6M off the books is a return, as much as many don't want to admit that. We have seen what happens to successful teams and the salary cap casualties that occur. This can be looked as such.

Can Parise be moved? Does Guerin use either of his two first round picks to upgrade the roster now?

UPDATE: Carson Soucy has been suspended for 1 game for his charging call last night against Conor Garland.
