Wild Offense is Offensive

It is only preseason I know.

However the Wild players are all saying the right things and the competition appears to be in full swing as players are trying to show what they have for new management.

The alarming fact is through two games the Wild have scored just two goals and have largely looked like the team we saw from mid-December through the end of the season in 2019.

Again I know it is preseason and the full lineup has not suited up.

However the first game saw far more regulars in the Wild lineup than did the Stars have and the result was one measly goal.

There was positives of course and a lot of stock cannot be put on exhibition games, especially the first couple. Free agent signees Ryan Hartman and Mats Zuccarello looked very much to be as advertised. Hartman had a quick scrap and scored the lone goal while Zuccarello was dishing passes and making plays seemingly every shift.

The trouble was the majority of the Wild shots were targeted at the logo of both Stars netminder. Goal scorers are not created as we well know and the Wild are not blessed in this area.

Kaprizov needs to be Guerin's number one focus this season and getting him here and giving him the confidence that there is a plan for surrounding talent.
