Wild Need Encore In The Desert

Playoffs hopes are still alive for the Wild and today they have the opportunity to leapfrog today's opponent, the Coyotes and draw withing two points of the idle Avalanche.

Can the Wild muster up the same level of intensity as they brought on Friday in Vegas?

That has been one of the issues with the Wild in their second half of inconsistency.
They have had trouble following up their best efforts and too often have negated the big wins with demoralizing defeats.

Time has run out on that formula for the Wild to maintain their slim playoff hopes.

A lot has been spoken about and alluded to that Wild head coach, Bruce Boudreau's, days are numbered in Minnesota. That has been speculated ever since Paul Fenton was hired to replace Chuck Fletcher last Spring. It us rare that a ne GM will maintain an inherited head coach for any real length of time.

If this is the end of the line for BB in Minnesota it can be said that he has done nothing to deserve being relieved of his position. He took a Wild team that lacked a lot of the elements of the keague's best teams, to two straight 100+ point seasons and has this current version still in the hunt for the final playoff position despite the roster turnover and extended significant injuries to several key players.

Here's hoping the Wild find their way into the dance just to give Boudreau another shot in the playoffs and who knows maybe a team that no one expects anything from could make something magic happen.

It's always Hockey Day in the State of Hockey!
