After playing three of four against the Ducks and Kings the Wild get another Central Division foe that they uave not seen in over a year. Nashville comes to St. Paul looking for just their second victory of the season following their 6-4 defeat in Winnipeg last night.

Nashville started slowly during the shortened season last season and then turned it on to qualify for the playoffs, so the slow start this season is a but surprising but the Predators know they have the squad to turn things around very quickly.

Despite the Wild's 4-0-0 record they have not been flawless and need to clean up some areas of their own. They have shown great resilience for sure, but some bad penalties have created a number of goals and scoring chances for from the Wild opponents in each of their four wins.

Kaapo Kahkonen will get his first start of the season today. Kahkonen played very well early last season when he had the net to himself, filling in for Cam Talbot during his COVID-19 and injury absences last season. After Talbot returned and took control of the Wild crease Kahkonen struggled to regain his form in the true backup role.

It will be interesting to see how he has matured and learned how to mentally prepare himself to handle his role better this season. He is going to be counted on and the Wild have the potential to have a 1 and 1A tandem but that all rests with Kahkonen's preparation and play. We will get our first look today.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
