Paul Fenton continues to make personnel changes as he has added Anthony Bitetto, claiming the 28 year old defenseman off waivers from Nashville
Obviously Fenton is very familiar with Bitetto and knows what elements he brings to the Wild, being that he has spent his entire pro career in the Predators organization after being drafted in the 6th round of the 2010 draft.
Bitetto a 6'2", 210 lb left shot defenseman, has not seen regular action on the Predators deep blueline having appeared in just 18 games (3 assists) this season and 114 over parts of 5 seasons, scoring just 2 goals and adding 17 assists.
Fenton is making changes and the Wild have responded with three straight victories before they entered the eight break. There promises to be more moves but so far the new Wild GM, is bringing in low risk players, with a potential to show what they can do.
Pontus Aberg, Brad Hunt, and now Anthony Bitetto all are free agents at season's end, with Aberg being an RFA while Hunt and Bitetto UFAs. All playing for future deals, motivating them all to come to work every day putting in their best effort.
The new additions help to create some unrest and uncertainty in the Wild locker room, which over the past several seasons has been a bit of a country club, for lack of a better term.
The message appears to be coming through as Fenton transforms the Minnesota Wild.
Stay tuned, got a feeling the Wild roster may have some more alterations before they take the ice again in Dallas a week from tonight.
