Wild 1st Meaningless Game Since 2012

The Wild will play their first truly meaningless game tonight as they host Charlie Coyle and the Bostom Bruins in the final home game of the season. Having been officially eliminated from the playoffs for the first time since 2012 the future of the team begins tonight.

Nico Sturm skated on a line yesterday between Jordan Greenway and Kevin Fiala and is expected to make his NHL debut.

That is a move looking to the future and everything that happens from here on out should be directed in that way.

It is an out with the old and in with the new. The days of the same old Wild roster year after year are done. The boring vanilla Wild are a thing of the past. Yes it is a process and it takes time.

Paul Fenton is making the team better and we will see a better more consistent product on the ice going forward.

The final two games are the first step in the process. The offseason will be full of more change and the message is clear, good is not great.

Owner, Craig Leipold, has made the mission clear that he is determined to bring the Stanley Cup to Minnesota.

That is evident in his confidence in Paul Fenton and giving him the latitude to make the club better by all means he sees fit.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
