Which Way Do Wild Go?

No wins since the All Star break, the Wild head to NJ for an afternoon tilt with the Devils.

Another weaker opponent on the Wild schedule as the record may indicate, yet the Wild record against such opponents has been less than spectacular dropping games against Detroit, Philadelphia, Anaheim, Chicago, Buffalo, and Edmonton.

That track record indicates that the Wild record and current playoff position is more of an aberration than it is fact that they are indeed a playoff contender in the weak Western Conference.

Sitting just seven points out of last place in the Western Conference the Wild are plummeting fast and their coach is losing faith in his squad.

Boudreau called out his players after Thursday night's 4-1 home loss against Edmonton, singling out Mikael Granlund in the process.

Expect some pushback from the Wild today as their is a lot of pride in the room, and in particular former Devil, Zach Parise. Parise has been the Wild's best and most consistent player all season, and a return to New Jersey, where he had some of his best years will be a driving force for #11 to fire up his mates, combined with Boudreau's latest rant.

The Wild are at a crossroads with what to do with the roster, buy or sell. Buying has been the theme of recent years with essentially no success, except the playoff berth streak of six seasons.

The window has been closing on the Wild core for the last several seasons and now it appears shut, so buying should not be even considered but is selling the best route either?

Paul Fenton is in a good position in my opinion to make a significant impact on the roster and prove his worth as the experienced master builder that his resume suggested and made him the front runner as Chuck Fletcher's replacement last Spring.

It's Always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
