Kaapo Kahkonen will get the Wild net again this evening as Cam Talbot remains out with a lower body injury. The injury again is not believed to be serious but Talbot will not dress, meaning that Andrew Hammond will serve as Kahkonen's backup tonight.

Hunter Jones gets the call from Iowa to be available as the third goalie should he need to be suited up. Jones will return to Iowa tomorrow to begin training camp with the AHL club tomorrow.

Nico Sturm will miss tonight's game also with an illness and Brad Hunt will once again dress and see time on thw wing as he did Friday night.

Hunt has become a valuable part of the Wild depth since coming over in what seemed like a very minor deal, orchestrated by former Wild GM, Paul Fenton, back in early 2019. Hunt is a team guy through and through and he does whatever it takes to be ready and when he is given the opportunity he always gives an honest effort..

The Wild will be looking to get their still struggling powerplay on track as through five games they still have just one man advantage marker. Much has been talked about with the PP and now it is time to execute. The four and one record is nice, however in order to continue to stay on the right side of that trajectory thw powerplay has to start clicking.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
