Sell Sell

We keep hearing that the Wild are making Paul Fenton's job easy, but only in the fact that he is clearly in a seller situation and not a buyer mode.

That said it is by no means and easy position to be in. The Wild have continued to do what they have done most of the season, and that is disappoint.

They are a veteran laden squad that has been passed by in a league full of youth and creativity. They can play an inspired game and even sustain it for a week or two and then it all comes crashing back down.

Many are calling for a complete makeover of the Wild roster, which of course is much easier said than done especially with the contracts the Wild have in the books.

There is a fix that can be had with this Wild team and it does not require a complete overhaul of the roster. It does however require significant changes to the roster and the character of the room.

Last night's opponent, the Flyers, have figured things out by pulling together as a team. When they were down last night the players spoke up in the room and held each other accountable for their play on the ice.

As many character players as the Wild have funneled through the doors, one would think that those internal locker room, peer to peer conversations would be occurring on a regular basis. Yet we never ever hear of that with the Wild.

That responsibility is lacking despite the mist veteran roster in the NHL. Who would ever have guessed that?

Quite honestly that is not a new story, it is fact and has been for as long as anyone here in the State of Hockey cares to remember.

The bright spot last night once again was, Luke Kunin, who had his first multi goal game of his career, and Joel Eriksson Ek.

The Wild are sellers or at least better be regardless of what transpires on the scoreboard over the next week and a half. Keeping the playoff streak alive, means nothing to the future of the Wild.
