The OG "Big Rig" is now a Minnesota Wild forward, as Pat Maroon was acquired for a 7th round pick in 2024 along with minor league forward Max Cajkovic. Tampa will retain 20% of Maroon's contract.

Maroon is a three time Stanley Cup winner and brings a strong locker room presence. He will seemingly take the role that had previously held by the departed, Ryan Reaves.

A quiet start to free agency for Bill Guerin and the Wild, which was expected given the cap situation.

Lou Nanne's grandson, Vinni Lettieri was signed to a two-way deal. Lettieri is a journeyman forward who provides some organizational depth. Also signed was Jake Lucchini who like Lettieri is a 28 year old forward, are not expected to make the Wild roster, but provide veteran insurance.
