We wish we were talking about and anticipating tonight's key Western Conference matchup between the Wild and Golden Knights at the Xcel Energy Center. Instead we are digesting the news that the NHL season is on hiatus for the time being.

It is disappointing for sure but the prudent solution in light of the spread of COVID-19.

We have to hope that this is only temporary and that the bigger picture shows a stop to the spread of the virus and life can return to the norm as quickly as possible.

The NHL is entertainment at the end of the day and life and health are far more important to all of us. That said we still look forward to and enjoy the competition of our favorite sport and seeing our teams compete.

We all are making our own personal sacrifices and doing what is necessary to help stop the spread of the virus. That now will not include sitting home and watching the NHL on TV.

It does come at a difficult time as the NHL playoff races are heating up and the Wild are right in the thick of that fight. What will happen next is still up in the air.

Will the season resume? Hopefully sooner than later.

Will the regular season be abbreviated or playoff series shortened? Possibly

When the season resumes does the NHL go right to playoffs?

Is there another solution? I believe that all hinges on just how long this hiatus turns out to be.

Either way we all must do our part in limiting our personal exposure to others in hopes that this threat subsides and we can get back to life as we know it.

Hoping that all of you and your families remain healthy as we make our way through this challenging period of our lives.
