Leipold Takes Blame For Fenton Hire |

Wild owner, Craig Leipold, takes ownership of the Paul Fenton hiring as his mistake.
He says that he knew Fenton in a different role when they were in Nashville together where Fenton was the assistant GM. Leipold said that Fenton was an excellent scout and excelled in that role.
The issues he had as GM were the other duties involved with leading the organization, managing and motivating people. That is where the disconnect occurred and it became clear from details that many of the players and staff expressed during their exit interviews following the season.
It is interesting timing for the move and where do the Wild go from here?
Ron Hextall, the former Flyer GM, is the first name that has surfaced for consideration.
Please just don't let it be Peter Chiarelli!!!
The plug was pulled on Fenton before he could do any further damage to a team that really needs to find the cohesiveness of a contender. That begins at the top.
The process for hiring the next GM must be taken more seriously this time around as you will remember the last go round Fenton was the clear front runner in Leipold's mind and he remained their through the whole process despite the other candidates that were interviewed.
Should be an exciting August...
