Matt Dumba returns tonight as the Wild and Blues face off for the first time this season. Dumba wanted to play last night but the extra day was decided to be a better option.

The Wild and Blues will meet eight times before the end of the season so this is just a quick precursor for what should be an exciting sprint to the end. St. Louis is coming off a 5-1 loss in Vegas on Monday and dropped 6 of their last 8 (2-3-3) and trail the Wild by 4 points entering tonight's game.

The Wild are once again looking to extend their franchise best 10 game home win streak and more importantly trying to assert themselves against one of the preseason contenders in the process.

To a man the Wild feel that their performances in Denver last weekend were not representative of the team they believe that they are. We know they are better than what we saw in the ice against the Avalanche, but just where are they in relation to taking another step up the ladder toward becoming contenders?

That remains to be seen and tonight is another chance to show that...

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
